I have realised that I never did a roundup post for the FFF before I left, and given that today is a Monday, I decided to do it today. This week(!) there are five superb entries to take a look at, based on Christina Aguilera’s Say Something. Continue reading
Hey all, it’s been a while! I’ve missed catching up with everyone and talking with the community, and I’m planning to stick around this time (sorry for all the in-ing and out-ing).
I’ve been doing university applications and A level things recently, my final exams are this summer so it’s all a bit hectic, but I’m planning on using blogging as something relaxing outside of work…
You might have noticed the stripped back theme, I’ve tried to de-clutter somewhat and make it (at least look) a little more serious. I’m planning to focus on book reviews for now, but I will not be posting reviews on any schedule. I will keep running the Flash Fiction Foray on its regular schedule for now (Tuesday challenges, Monday summary); although I might need to make it less frequent at some point.
Anyway, it’s good to be back!
Hi all, I’ve absolutely loved my time here with all my blogging friends. However, I’ve decided it’s time to leave WordPress for several reasons, not least the number of things I have to (and would like to) do over the summer before applying to uni. A huge thank you to everyone for your support, and I wish you all good luck.
Best wishes, Matt
I created the event Monday Flash Fiction Foray a little while ago (please view for rules and explanation). This week’s edition should be a tasty one, it will be on … Imagine Dragons’ Monster. Feel free to base responses of anything to do with the song, I always enjoy any different takes! If you want to read previous challenges and responses, click here.
Hi all, apologies for yet another prolonged absence. Unfortunately, I’ve got exams this summer (and next summer, and with any luck for three summers after that). The exams (AS levels for those in the UK) this year are especially important as they give a strong indication of which university I can go to-so I want some strong results! At the moment I am considering trying for English at a Russell Group university, perhaps with an eye to one of the top two…
I’ll try and stick around through the exams but obviously they might take over my life a little so I can’t say anything for certain. I’m not sure if I’ll have the time to write the Friday reviews (combined the fact that I’m not really reading too much other than textbooks), but I will try and carry on with the Flash Fiction Forays (same schedule-summary Monday, new challenge Tuesday).
Thank you all!
Hi all, sorry for the lack of posts this week (especially Flash Fiction Foray), I’m afraid that all my work just got a bit much and the few essays I needed to write took priority. I have plans to continue posting as normal now though, as I should have a reasonable amount of time…
I created the event Monday Flash Fiction Foray a little while ago (please view for rules and explanation). After the last edition on You Ruin Me, where there were five brilliant entries, this week’s edition will be on (drumroll please)… Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata. This piece seems to put into music what cannot be put into words, emotions that we feel but cannot express-especially pertaining to Paris. Feel free to base responses of anything to do with the song, I always enjoy any different takes!
Just in case you missed yesterday’s interview with blogger and author Ken Decroo, here it is (apologies to those who have already read it).
