It’s that time of week again, and this week there are three entries to take a look at, based on the song Appassionata by Secret Garden; and much was made of the fact that there were no lyrics to work with (sorry, definitely a lyrical song this week!).

The entrants here were Ritu, from But I Smile Anyway…, with a descriptive piece which evoked the music beautifully. wafflemethis forged a real connection with the song through a technique which he considers his “weak point” (though it is anything but). Kritsa Yvonne had what appeared at first glance to be a gripping descriptive piece, it turned out to be anything but with a well executed sharp sting in the tail.

Ritu’s piece: ‘FFF 12 A toughie this week!

wafflemethis’s piece: ‘FFF#12

Yvonne’s piece: ‘Flash Fiction – Appassionata

The prompt for the next week will be posted at (around) 19:00 UTC tomorrow. Thanks go to all the participants!

  1. Hi Matt, yes we whinged about the lack of lyrics BUT I for one enjoyed the extra challenge and guess the others did too. I’ll have plenty of time to think about whatever you find for us tomorrow as I’m flying out to Crete overnight. X
