Upcoming highly anticipated books: August 2015

In the next month...
Books published in the next month that I am looking forward to

In this new feature, published on the last Wednesday of each month, I will take a look at five books set to be published in the next month that I am looking forward to. This month, we have another instant classic being published from a familiar name.

Instant classic: The Shepherd’s Crown (Terry Pratchett)-the final Discworld novel from the acclaimed and recently deceased author, this will be razor sharp and conclude the 41 book saga (27 August 2015)

Military history: Germany Ascendant: The Eastern Front 1915 (Prit Buttar)-covering the events of 100 years ago, Buttar discusses the front which is too often overlooked in the West (18 August 2015)

Historical fiction: Daisy’s Long Road Home (Merryn Allingham)-the last of the trilogy, after the end of the Second World War, the titular character has to search for peace and fulfilment (27 August 2015)

Biography: You’re Never Weird on the Internet (almost) (Felicia Day)-I hadn’t heard of Day, but the premise of the book sounds interesting, especially if her claims of being “semi-influential” on the internet (specifically in Goodreads for a time) are genuine, this will be an interesting read (13 August 2015)

High drama: Crooked Little Lies (Barbara Taylor Sissel)-this book promises an intense and thrilling plot with a likely psychological edge (1 August 2015)
